About Jennifer Ann and cacao ceremonies

Jennifer Ann is a medicine singer songwriter from Holland/USA with her roots in mantra and medicine music. Her voice is soulful and warm and her fans describe it as a mothers embrace.

With her search for the medicine and healing powers within music, she follows the traditions of mantra chanting and tribal ceremonial music. This is the groundwork for her original songs that she is now birthing into the world. These new songs are a fusion of tribal music and folk/singer-songwriter blended together as prayers for a better world.

In 2014 Jennifer Ann released her first album, which was received well in Holland and reviewed by the Dutch Yoga Magazine. Her second album in 2015 was already shifting towards writing original songs.

In that same year she was invited to speak about how Music = Medicine at Tedx Friesland ( The Netherlands) She also finished her music degree from the university of Groningen ( The Netherlands).

Jennifer Ann has been trained in different Yoga traditions (500+ hours) including, Hatha, Kundalini and children’s yoga. She has also studied with diffenrent shamanic tribes, as well as breathtraining, meditation and health foods. She now weaves this into her own style, where she strongly feels led by the gentle, yet strong feminine force of leadership, rather than a masculine.

She is currently performing worldwide, sharing her musical gift together with ceremony, retreat and other healing work.

The 2018 tour is throughout Asia, Australia, Europe and South America, sharing at festivals, retreats, ceremonies and workshops.

Cacao ceremony

Jennifer Ann is a well known female ceremony leader and has joined and led ceremonies globally. Her main medicine plant has become the sacred plant of the cacao. A tradition that goes back to the mayan and aztek cultures and that has quite recently found it’s way back into society. Of course we know the normal chocolate bars that we find in the supermarket and most of our kitchen cabinets. Yet the true power that can be found within the cacao bean has somehow been lost over the years. Through a very special way of brewing the (raw) cacao, Jennifer Ann has found a way to balance her feminine strength and direction into creating a safe space to journey into the self with a little help of the Cacao Gods and Goddesses. She uses, prayer, meditation, breathwork, music and dance and weaves all of her talents together in natural and fun way.

Cacao is a safe and non-psychedelic substance, with many healing powers for body, soul and mind. Feel free to come and walk through the door of liberation in a safe and joyous way!

About cacao

Cacao has over 1200 chemical constituents, the beans from Theobroma Cacao (translating from the greek: theo = god and broma = food and cacao = the mayan name for the chocolate beans. Literal meaning: Food of the Gods) appears to be the most
pharmacologically complex food in nature. Cacao has been used for millennia as a food and antidote to many health issues. It has also been used ceremonially by the ancient Meso-americans in conjunction with other plants and rituals.

Cacao contains the neurotransmitters serotonin, tryptophan and dopamine which assist with feelings of wellbeing, resilience to stress and anxiety and contribute to healthy motivation.
It also has the neuromodulator phenylethylamine (PEA) which helps the body create feelings of excitement and euphoria. It also assists us to pay attention and stay alert. With healthy amounts of PEA we stay focused, time slows down and we are not distracted by
hunger or excess stimulation from the ‘outside world’. PEA also increases the effectiveness of norepinephrine, a neurotransmitter related to joy.

Cacao also contains anandamide this is a type of lipid (oil). The word ‘ananda’ (from which this chemical was named) translates from the Sanskrit language as ‘bliss’. This naturally produced chemical (which is part of the endorphin group) is most concentrated in the body after moderate exercise – also referred to as the runners high.
More health benefits of the cacao come from a very high level of minerals like magnesium. Magnesium assists in all metabolic processes, relaxation and a healthy heart and artery system. Cacao is also one of the highest sources of antioxidants. Antioxidants clear
unhealthy cells from the body.

On an energetic level Cacao opens the heart and lets your creativity flow in natural ways, returning you to a blissful state.

Ceremonial cacao was traditionally used by the Ancient Mayan Shamans in ceremony to travel between the worlds, to travel beyond the veil. To do this, the shamans infused their cacao with spirit, giving the ceremonial cacao a spiritual dimension not found in other
cacao sources. Ceremonial cacao is therefore an ancient plant medicine, a wisdom keeper, a teacher and facilitator. Ceremonial cacao leads you to the door to the heart, to the spiritual dimension, but it does not push you through like other plant medicines – such
as those found in the Amazon forest. Ceremonial cacao invites you on a journey, to travel with the chocolate spirit through the veil, but only if you choose. Therefore these ceremonies are safe.
